Why Autumn is a Great Time to Cut Hedges

As we see the last few weeks of summer, autumn becomes an ideal time to cut back your hedges. The cooler weather means most growth has stopped, so a good trim now will keep your hedges neat and manageable through winter. It also gives them a clean shape that will hold until the next growing season.
Cutting in autumn also helps improve air circulation within the hedge, which can reduce the risk of disease and encourage healthier growth in spring. Plus, by waiting until after the bird nesting season (which runs from March to August), you avoid disturbing wildlife.
A well-maintained hedge not only looks better but also keeps your garden feeling tidy and cared for, even during the quieter months.
