Caring for Roses in the Summer

Summer is a beautiful time for roses, with vibrant blooms filling the garden. However, the warmer weather can also put extra stress on these popular plants.
To keep roses healthy throughout the summer, water them deeply once or twice a week rather than giving them light daily watering. This encourages strong root growth and helps plants cope with dry conditions. Watering early in the morning is best, as it allows foliage to dry quickly and reduces the risk of disease.
Regular deadheading and removing spent flowers will encourage repeat blooming and keep plants looking tidy. Feeding roses with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season can also support healthy growth and abundant flowers.
Keep an eye out for common summer pests such as aphids and signs of fungal diseases. Good air circulation around plants and prompt removal of affected leaves can help prevent problems from spreading.
With a little attention and care, your roses will continue to reward you with stunning blooms all summer long.
